Two additional victims from Kerala have been identified among the approximately 40 Indians who perished in the recent fire incident in Kuwait. The deceased are Lucose (48) and Sajan George (29), both from Kollam city. Lucos had told his relatives he planned to return home next week.

Sajan George, an M.Tech graduate from Punalur in Kollam, had moved to Kuwait only a month ago for a job as a junior mechanical engineer. The fire, which occurred at a labor housing facility in the Mangaf area, has resulted in over 50 injuries, with the wounded being treated in five government hospitals.

Previously, Shameer (30) from Sooranad village in Kollam district was also identified among the deceased. Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, has traveled to Kuwait to oversee the assistance for injured Indians and ensure the repatriation of the victims' remains. Singh noted that some bodies were charred beyond recognition.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, extending his condolences to the families of the victims. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also conveyed his grief and urged Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar to ensure necessary rescue operations and arrangements.

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed the incident, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the efforts being made to support those affected by this devastating fire.
