Suspended BSP MP Danish Ali joins congress

Danish Ali, a suspended BSP leader and Lok Sabha MP, officially joined the Congress party on Wednesday. He made this decision as a need to combat divisive forces in the country.

Danish Ali emphasized the importance of strengthening the Congress under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi to effectively counter these divisive elements.

Expressing his reasons for joining the Congress, Ali stated that it aligns with the ideology he has upheld throughout his political career. He believes that strengthening the forces opposed to divisive ideologies is crucial at this juncture. Therefore, he sees joining the Indian National Congress as a significant step forward in his political journey.

Ali, who currently represents Amroha in the Lok Sabha, was suspended by the BSP for anti-party activities. Now, he is poised to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Amroha constituency on a Congress ticket.

Highlighting the ideological divide in the political landscape, Ali asserted that the choice is clear between divisive forces and those striving for justice for the marginalized and oppressed. He believes it is time for individuals to decide where they stand on these crucial issues.

AICC in-charge for Uttar Pradesh, Avinash Pande, welcomed Ali into the Congress party during the joining event. Pande expressed optimism about the party benefiting from Ali's political experience and track record. He noted that Ali has been active in politics since his student days and has participated in various political movements, including the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.
