Greater Hyderabad will host a vaccination program by the Telangana government in response to reports of Japanese encephalitis cases in the area. Children between the ages of nine months and fifteen are the target audience for the drive. Hyderabad will launch the vaccination push on July 25.
Officials from the medical and health departments stated that the vaccination drive’s goal is to immunize six lakh kids against Japanese encephalitis. In describing the illness, officials stated that Hyderabad's monsoon season is when cases of Japanese encephalitis are typically reported. This vaccination campaign is being carried out ahead of the height of the monsoon season as a preventative strategy.
The vaccine will be administered at private and government schools and Anganwadi centers in the city.
