Solar roof-top scheme - PM Modi announces Suryodaya Yojana

PM said all the devotees get energy from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram. The government will launch a rooftop solar power scheme with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the decision that the government will start the Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana, an initiative to generate electricity through solar energy.

After his visit to Ayodhya, PM Modi chaired a meeting to launch the Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana. During the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the power of the sun should be harnessed by every household with a roof to reduce their electricity bills and to make them truly Atmanirbhar for their electricity needs.

All the devotees of the world always get energy from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram. The government will launch a rooftop solar power scheme (Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana) with the target of installing rooftop solar in 1 crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bills of the poor and middle class but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector. On the occasion of consecration in Ayodhya, my resolution got further strengthened that the people of India should have their own solar rooftop system on the roof of their houses, PM Modi said in a post on X.

The rooftop solar power scheme aims to provide electricity to low- and middle-income individuals through solar rooftop installation, offering additional income for surplus electricity generation. Modi also directed that a massive national campaign be started to mobilize residential sector consumers to adopt rooftop solar in large numbers.
