Sandip Ghosh, former principal of the R.G. Kar Hospital in Kolkata, was arrested on Monday night in a corruption case after being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for 15 days. Following this, the West Bengal Orthopaedic Association (WBOPA) cancelled his general membership. Earlier, Sandip Ghosh was suspended by the Orthopaedic Association after his name appeared in the FIR alleging corruption. Meanwhile, the state unit has also sought cancellation of Sandeep's membership in the IMA.

Former principal Sandip Ghosh has been under pressure since the rape and murder of a young doctor at RG Kar Hospital. After the incident, he had to resign from the post of principal under pressure from the students. Since then, the organisations he is associated with have also started taking steps one by one. Earlier, the West Bengal Orthopaedic Association had showcause orthopaedic surgeon Sandip Ghosh. After this, they decided to keep him out of all their academic activities. After his arrest by the CBI, the organisation said that Sandip Ghosh's general membership has been cancelled till he is proved innocent.

Sandip Ghosh and his three accomplices—Suman Hazra, Biplab Singh, and Afsar Ali—have been staying at Nizam Palace since their arrest on Monday night. Their medical tests were conducted at Nizam on Monday night. The interrogation continued through the night. According to sources, Sandip Ghosh had received a hint of arrest in advance. So he was calm and calm. Even after his arrest, he maintained a chill of nerves. The three arrested along with him said that Sandip Ghosh knew all their activities. The four are scheduled to be produced before a special CBI court in Alipore on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, a representative of the 'Joint Platform of Doctors', West Bengal, took the documents to Nizam Palace.
