Ratna Bhandar to be opened on July 14: Odisha Law Minister

The Ratna Bhandar of the Jagannath temple in Puri will open on Sunday, July 14. This was announced by the Law Minister of Odisha on Thursday. The proposal submitted by the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration has been approved by the BJP government in Odisha.

Odhisha's Law Minister, Prithviraj Harichandan, said the Shree Jagannatha Temple Managing Committee had approved the proposal of a high-level committee led by former Orissa High Court judge Justice Biswanath Rath to open the temple's Ratna Bhandar on July 14.

Veer Vikram Yadav, Chief Administrator of Shri Jagannath Temple Administration, said, "The 16-member committee headed by Justice Vishwanath Rath has made several proposals regarding the Ratna Bhandar of Jagannath Temple. Standard operating procedures have been set for opening this store. Several other suggestions have also been given. They have been sent to the government. They will be discussed in the process of opening the Ratna store. '

The keys to the treasure have been missing for the last six years. However, there is a duplicate key with the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration. It has already been asked to be submitted to the high-level committee. Justice Vishwanath Rath said, "If the Ratna Bhandar is not opened with a duplicate key, then the lock of the Ratna Bhandar will be broken." All the gold grains in the Ratna Bhandar will be measured. Renovation work will also begin. The target is to complete all the procedures before the reverse chariot.

The reopening of the Ratna Bhandar was a major political issue in the state during the recently held elections. After winning power in Odisha, the BJP vowed to reopen the 'Ratna Bhandar' for necessary repairs and inventory.
