The Delhi Police is set to visit Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's house on Friday to investigate the alleged assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal. The police will take statements from officers and staff present during the incident. An FIR was lodged at Civil Lines police station after Maliwal accused Kejriwal's personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, of assaulting her.

On Thursday, members of the Delhi BJP's Mahila Morcha protested outside Kejriwal's residence, demanding his resignation and justice for Maliwal. Additional Commissioner of Police P S Kushwaha led a team to record Maliwal's statement on Thursday afternoon. Following her statement, the police named Kumar in the FIR and may issue a notice summoning him for the investigation. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also summoned Kumar for a hearing on May 17.

Maliwal’s official statement will be recorded before a magistrate as per Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code. She contacted a PCR from Kejriwal's house on the night of May 13, alleging that Kumar had slapped, hit, and kicked her while she was in Kejriwal’s drawing room. The FIR includes charges under sections 354, 506, 509, and 323 of the IPC, covering assault, criminal force with intent to outrage modesty, criminal intimidation, and physical harm.

After filing the FIR, Maliwal went to AIIMS for a medical checkup. She later released a statement on social media, urging the BJP not to politicize the incident. Maliwal expressed hope for appropriate action and thanked her supporters, while also addressing those who accused her of acting under political influence. She emphasized that the nation’s issues are more important than her personal ordeal and requested the BJP to refrain from political exploitation of the incident.
