PM Modi granted permission for roadshow in Coimbatore by Madras HC

The Madras High Court has instructed the Coimbatore Police to allow a 4-kilometer roadshow during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the city on March 18, but with certain conditions.

This decision was made after the BJP state unit filed a petition in the High Court challenging the police's refusal to grant permission for Modi's roadshow. Initially, the police had denied permission for the roadshow, citing security concerns and an ongoing public exam.

During a public meeting in Kanniyakumari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, describing it as an 'enemy' of the state's future. He accused the party of harboring hatred towards the country, its culture, and heritage.

Modi also highlighted the lack of development initiatives undertaken by the earlier UPA regime, in which the DMK was a prominent member. He asserted that significant development projects, particularly in the road sector, have been expedited since the NDA came to power in 2014.
