Omar Abdullah rejects rumors on father's retirement from politics

Omar Abdullah, a leader from the National Conference, shared that his father, Farooq Abdullah, not participating in the Lok Sabha elections doesn't mean he's done with politics. He emphasized that his father's spirit remains strong, and he shouldn't be counted out of the political scene.

Regarding his sons, Zahir and Zameer, potentially entering politics, Omar mentioned that they haven't taken significant steps in that direction yet. While they assist the family when needed and provide legal advice occasionally, they haven't actively campaigned or sought political mandates.

Responding to criticism about dynastic politics, Omar pointed out that the BJP, despite accusing others of promoting family-based politics, itself fields candidates from political families. He highlighted that about one-fifth of BJP candidates in the recent Lok Sabha elections came from such backgrounds.

In essence, Omar Abdullah believes in keeping an open mind about his family's political future and challenges accusations of dynastic politics by pointing out similar practices within the BJP.
