The Bihar Economic Offences Unit (EOU) is currently investigating the claims of a potential paper leak during the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) that took place on May 5. The EOU's investigation has indicated signs pointing towards a paper leak according to statements from the Additional Director General of Police, N H Khan, as reported by the national media.

In a major development, Bihar is facing controversy over the NEET UG exam 2024 with allegations of paper leaks. The Examination Observation Unit (EOU) has taken action by issuing notices to nine candidates suspected of involvement. These candidates belong to different districts across Bihar.

Salver Gang Under Scanner:

During their investigation, the police discovered that the Salver gang had access to the roll codes of 13 candidates. At the time when the alleged paper leak occurred, authorities arrested four of these candidates. EOU has reached out to the National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for NEET, seeking further information on the remaining nine candidates. EOU continues to conduct thorough investigations, having previously interrogated the suspects during their custody.

Sources reveal that NTA has provided EOU with contact details, including phone numbers and addresses, of these candidates. Notices have been dispatched to these addresses, summoning both the candidates and their guardians for questioning. Authorities are actively exploring potential connections between the candidates and the Salver gang. They are also examining whether the gang distributed leaked question papers to these candidates ahead of the exam.

13 Accused including 4 Neet UG Candidates Arrested:

So far, police have arrested 13 people in this paper leak case. Four of them are NEET UG candidates, and the others include their families and members of the Salver gang. EOU is investigating this case thoroughly, and they have already questioned them before while in custody.
