The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 will be conducted in pen-and-paper (OMR) mode on a single day and in a single shift. This decision follows consultations between the Union ministries of education and health. The announcement puts an end to previous speculations regarding the possibility of an online format, especially after the controversies surrounding last year's exam.
In addition, NTA clarified that NEET-UG 2025 will serve as the uniform entrance test for admissions to various undergraduate medical courses, including BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS, under the Indian System of Medicine, across all medical institutions. The examination will also be applicable for admission to BHMS courses under the National Commission for Homeopathy.
Furthermore, the NTA confirmed that aspirants seeking admission to the BSc Nursing course in Military Nursing Services (MNS) for 2025 must qualify through NEET-UG. The NEET-UG scores will be used for selection into the four-year BSc Nursing program offered at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals.
While the specific date for the NEET-UG 2025 exam has yet to be announced, the update ensures clarity for candidates about the test’s format and scope.
