A major controversy has erupted in Kerala schools after question papers for the second-term Christmas examinations allegedly leaked online. The leaked papers, featuring Plus-I Mathematics and Tenth Standard English exams, appeared on a YouTube channel called "MS Solution" and garnered over 10,000 views.
The General Education Department (GED) has taken swift action, announcing a police complaint and internal investigation into the matter. Authorities are concerned about the breach, given the stringent security measures in place during the preparation and distribution process.
The question papers for Plus-I and Plus-II model exams are prepared at a workshop conducted by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). Two sets of papers are produced, with one selected and printed at a press outside the state. The papers are then delivered to district centers, where school principals collect them.
District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) prepares the questions for grade eight and nine. Two sets are created, with one selected and printed through the Samagra Shiksha Kerala (SSK). These papers are distributed to schools via Block Resource Centers under the GED and they look after the credibility of the exam system
This incident is not the first of its kind in Kerala, as a similar question paper leak occurred earlier this year, prompting the government to order a probe .
