The Left Democratic Front government in Kerala will roll out development projects worth Rs 13,013.40 crore in 100 days as part of its third anniversary celebrations, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced on Tuesday. These initiatives, forming the fourth edition of the 100-day programme, aim to be completed by October 22.
In a statement, Vijayan highlighted that the programme includes 1,070 projects spanning 47 departments. He emphasized that this edition of the 100-day programme would further enhance government efforts towards the well-being of common people, social progress, and sustainable development. The initiative not only focuses on areas needing special attention but also aims to fulfill election manifesto promises.
The ambitious initiative aims to generate 2,59,384 job opportunities. The plan includes completing and inaugurating 706 projects while launching or announcing 364 others within the specified period. Both livelihood and infrastructure projects are part of the initiative, with plans to inaugurate new roads and bridges and distribute 30,000 title deeds across the state.
Additionally, the programme will see the modernization of 456 ration shops and the establishment of 37 smart villages. A significant component of the initiative includes the distribution of expensive medicines, such as those for cancer treatment, at zero profit through the Karunya community pharmacy. Moreover, during this period, 10,000 individual homes will be allocated to eligible recipients through the Life Mission programme.
Chief Minister Vijayan expressed confidence that this programme would significantly boost various government activities, ensuring comprehensive development and improved well-being for the people of Kerala. The initiative is seen as a major step towards achieving the state's development goals and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
