BJP accused the Congress has portraying the schemes brought by the previous BJP government and the schemes of the Central government as its own.

On Monday, Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot addressed the joint session of the state legislature. Opposition BJP accused the Congress government of making Governor Gehlot speaks lies in his customary address to both Houses of Legislature and alleged that it has  portrayed the previous BJP government’s programmes as its own.

Speaking to reporters here, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, R. Ashok said that Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot speak lies in his customary address to booth Houses of Legislature and alleged that it has portrayed. the Congress has portrayed the schemes brought by the previous BJP government and the schemes of the Central government as its own. Congress has said that they have brought five guarantees. ‘Yuva Nidhi’ guarantee  has not yet reached the hands of the unemployed youth. The previous BJP government had given the compensation to farmers in one go. There is no mention of 25,000 compensation that was sought for drought-affected farmers, but instead allegations are being leveled against the Central government.

BJP Leader Baswaraj Bommai said that governor’s address as disappointing and that he had never heard such a lackluster speech so far. The governor’s speech didn’t mention any of the achievements of the present government and the works of the previous government had been show as the achievements of the Congress regime. 

Governor’s Speech was ‘Full of lies’

State BJP President B.Y Vijayendra called the governor’s speech was ‘’full of lies’’. Further he said that, It is clear that the governor’s speech that since the Congress government came to power, no development works have been done except for the guarantees. the Siddaramaiah led- congress government which is mired in confusion due to inadequate implementation of the guarantee schemes. 

What did Governor say?

Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot said in his address to the joint session of both Houses of the Karnataka Assembly, The implementation of the guarantee schemes in Karnataka will lift 1.2 crore families out of poverty. the schemes have provided a new boost to the economy. due to guarantee schemes, Economic activities are picking up due to new accumulation of purchasing power among the people. Tax collection is increasing. Up to the end of January. The rate of growth in GST collection of our state stands first in the country. The studies by the Finance Department show positive impact and response from people about these schemes.
