Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) from Churu, Rajasthan, Rahul Kaswan, joined the Congress party on Monday after leaving the BJP. He joined the Congress in Delhi with the party's President, Mallikarjun Kharge.

The BJP's top leaders will meet at its headquarters in Delhi this evening to finalize candidates for Lok Sabha seats, according to news agency ANI. The meeting will include BJP's partners in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) from Maharashtra, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, and Bihar.

The Congress party's Central Election Committee (CEC) will also meet at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi this evening, as reported by ANI citing party sources. Discussions will focus on Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh. The meeting will be chaired by party national president Mallikarjun Kharge, and it is expected to be attended by Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party MP Rahul Gandhi. Earlier, the Congress had announced its first list of candidates for 39 Lok Sabha constituencies on March 8, covering states like Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshwadeep, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Telangana, and Tripura.
