The Delhi Police has filed a complaint against Tamil Nadu minister T M Anbarasan for reportedly making threatening comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a public gathering, officials stated on Thursday.

The complaint was lodged at the Parliament Street police station in Delhi on Wednesday, based on a report by Supreme Court lawyer Satya Ranjan Swain, they mentioned.

As per the complaint, Anbarasan, who serves as the minister of rural industries, cottage industries, and small industries in the Tamil Nadu government, allegedly openly threatened to harm Modi during a public rally in the southern state.

"The threatening statement made by Anbarasan is not only alarming and poses a significant risk to the safety and security of our prime minister, but it is also shameful and appears to have been deliberately made to disrupt the peace and stability of our nation and incite violence," the complaint stated.

The complaint, registered under sections 153, 268, 503, 505, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), also mentioned that a video containing Anbarasan's remarks is circulating on social media platforms.
