The Samajwadi Party (SP) shared that they got 10 electoral bonds worth Rs 1 crore each by post without any name on them. All these bonds were issued on the same date, May 7, 2019.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the SP cashed in electoral bonds worth Rs 10.84 crore. As per the details from the Election Commission, the party got bonds worth Rs 10 crore (92 percent of the total) through the post from unidentified donors.

In their disclosure to the EC, the SP mentioned receiving electoral bonds from various sources like S K Traders, Gurgaon (7 bonds of Rs 1 lakh each); San Beverages Pvt Ltd (3 bonds of Rs 10 lakh each); S K Trading Co, Delhi (1 bond of Rs 1 lakh); A K Traders, Delhi (1 bond of Rs 10 lakh); K S Traders, Mohannagar (1 bond of Rs 10 lakh); B S Traders, Jaipur (7 bonds of Rs 1 lakh each); A S Traders, Delhi (5 bonds of Rs 1 lakh each); B G Traders, Faridabad (5 bonds of Rs 1 lakh each).

Apart from the SP, several other parties like DMK, AIADMK, Janata Dal (Secular), NCP, JKNC, JDU, AAP, Sikkim Democratic Front, and Maharashtra Gomantak Party disclosed their donors to the EC. The data was released by the commission on Sunday.

The Supreme Court will listen to the State Bank of India's explanation on Monday regarding its failure to reveal the unique alphanumeric code for each electoral bond bought and redeemed.
