Protests have erupted across the country over the rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The R.G. Kar victim’s father, appearing before Chief Justice of Kolkata High Court TS Sivagnanam during the hearing of several PILs filed in the RG Kar rape and murder case, sought a court-monitored probe into his daughter's rape and murder case. After that, the Chief Justice ordered the family of the deceased to be involved in the case.

The father of the deceased came to the court of Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam on Tuesday during the hearing of several PILs filed in the R.G. Kar rape and murder case. The Chief Justice orders him to be included in the case.

According to the victim's parents, the investigation is not going properly. Many suspects have not been investigated. They will be reassured if the investigation is done under the supervision of the court. The Calcutta High Court has accepted their plea. At the same time, the court has questioned the nature of the investigation that has been going on for so long. In this context, the court asked the state government where the investigation stands at the moment.

The Chief Justice of the High Court observed that the victim was resting after continuous duty when she was killed by a hellish rampage. But the police are trying to pass off it as an unnatural death; it is very unfortunate. The police tried to pass off the incident as a suicide. Whom is the administration trying to save? the court asked. "I am shocked at the role of the police and administration in the state," the CJI said.

Calcutta High Court Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam termed the incident unfortunate. The court also directed the state government to submit a report on the case diary and progress of the investigation by 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

However, the state has sought time to submit the report. They appealed to give time until next Wednesday to submit the inquiry report.
