The Varanasi district court gives a verdict in the Gyanvapi mosque case. The Supreme Court has allowed Hindus to worship in the sealed basement of a mosque in Varanasi.
The ASI survey report on the Gyanvapi mosque was recently released by the Hindu side. They claimed that the survey of the Archaeological Survey of India clearly mentioned that there was a Hindu temple inside this mosque.
The report has mentioned the broken parts of Hindu idols and symbols of various pujas. Photos of the signs have also been published. After this, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad demanded that this part of the mosque be handed over to Hindus.
At the same time, the Hindu side approached the court, seeking permission to worship. A petition has also been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the opening of the Wuzhu Khana and the survey.
The court said that worship, bhog, and the idol in the basement should be kept properly, and iron fencing should be arranged. These have to be done within seven days. The Kashi Vishwanath Trust Board will be able to look after the affairs of the priest.
All in all, the Gyanvapi mosque case is a big twist this time. Shailendra Kumar Pathak, the Acharya of Ved Vyas Peeth, had approached the court seeking permission to worship in the sealed basement of the Gyanvapi mosque.
He wanted Hindus to get the opportunity to perform Shringar Gauri on the premises of the mosque. The order was passed by the Varanasi district court in connection with the case. The judge ordered that a road be constructed for Hindus to go to the basement of Gyanvapi from the front of the river.
The court also directed the Varanasi district magistrate to make the necessary arrangements so that Hindus could perform puja within seven days. Hindus will now be able to worship in that part of the mosque.
