In India, YouTube removed approximately 2.25 million user-generated videos during this period for breaching its community guidelines, ranking India as the country with the highest number of such removals.

On a global scale, YouTube removed a total of 9 million videos during this timeframe. Among these, nearly all were flagged by automated systems rather than by manual reporting from users, government entities, or organizations. It's noteworthy that over half of these videos (53.46%) were removed even before they garnered a single view, while around 27.07% received between one and ten views.

YouTube's community guidelines encompass various categories, including spam, sensitive content, violent or hazardous material, regulated goods, misinformation, and content falling under educational, documentary, scientific, and artistic genres.

The report revealed that YouTube terminated twice as many channels compared to the previous quarter, totaling 20 million channels. The primary reasons for channel termination were violations of spam policies, such as scams, misleading metadata or thumbnails, and spamming videos and comments.

When a channel is terminated, all of its videos are removed from the platform. During the mentioned period, approximately 95.53 million videos were removed due to channel-level termination. The majority of channel removals were attributed to spam or misleading content, accounting for 92.8%, followed by nudity or sexual content at 4.5%.

YouTube explained that a channel is terminated if it accumulates three Community Guidelines strikes within 90 days, exhibits severe abuse (such as predatory behavior), or is deemed to be entirely dedicated to guideline violations, often seen in spam accounts.

Apart from India, Singapore and the United States also witnessed a significant number of video removals, with 124,387 and 788,354 videos removed, respectively.

In addition to videos, YouTube also eliminated over 1.1 billion comments during this period, primarily targeting spam. Impressively, over 99% of these spam comments were identified automatically by the platform's systems.
