Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States from September 21 to 23. The PMO has shared a detailed itinerary of PM Modi's visit to the US.

The biggest attraction of Modi's visit to the US is the Quad Leader’s Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday, September 21. US President Joe Biden hosted the meeting in his hometown. The summit assumes significance as Biden is not running for a second term. When India hosts the next Quad summit next year, the US will have a new president. The Prime Minister is scheduled to speak at a UN General Assembly function in New York.

Apart from India, the US, Japan, and Australia are part of the Quad. The Quad has long opposed China's aggressive policies in the Indo-Pacific region. The way China is trying to dominate the region is affecting the trade policies of other countries.

China's activities have also created a cloud of apprehension about the security of the countries in the region. China claims about 1.3 million square kilometres of the South China Sea. Not only that, China is building military bases in Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam by violating the territorial waters of artificial islands. Which is very worrying for the Quad-Group countries. Considering this overall situation, the Quad was formed in 2017. However, the Quad's activities have slowed down in recent years amid the conflict in Ukraine and Gaza.

PM Modi will arrive in New York on September 22. He will address a gathering of the US-Indian community. He will also interact with CEOs of various US computing, semiconductor, and biotechnology companies. Enhancing cooperation between the two countries in cutting-edge areas like AI and quantum technology is likely to be discussed. On September 23, Prime Minister Modi will address the UN General Assembly on the occasion of the 'Summit of the Future'. The event will also be attended by leaders from around the world. On the sidelines of the summit, PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with several leaders.
