Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Russia at the beginning of this month. Ukraine, however, did not view this in a good light. In particular, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed anger over Modi's hug for Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, this is the first time that PM Modi is going to visit Ukraine after the war situation.
During his visit to Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the war situation with Ukraine and the killing of children. Seeing the Modi-Putin hug, Zelenskyy said, "The prime minister of the largest democracy is embracing a war criminal." This is a major blow to peacekeeping. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi is scheduled to visit Ukraine in August. He will go there and discuss with Zelensky how to end the war situation with Russia.
Many people feared that India's diplomatic relations with Ukraine could be damaged due to Narendra Modi's visit to Russia. However, if Modi's visit to Ukraine is successful, the relations between the two countries will be strengthened, and the war situation in Ukraine with Russia can also end. Earlier in June, Modi met Zelenskyy in Italy to attend the G7 summit.
On the other hand, the USA started criticizing the visit of the Prime Minister of India to Russia. New Delhi, however, has given a clear answer. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has made it clear that the decision with which country to maintain bilateral relations is a matter for the country concerned and also for the independence of the country. India is also independent in this regard. So you have to accept reality. At the same time, India was also reminded that Narendra Modi has expressed anger over the attack on Ukraine by Russia.
