On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, resulting in the signing of four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two nations. Modi is visiting Singapore for two days at the invitation of Prime Minister Wong. Prior to their discussions, Modi was welcomed with a red-carpet reception at the Singapore Parliament House, where he also signed the visitor's book. This meeting comes shortly after Wong assumed office and as Modi begins his third term as India's prime minister.

Following their talks, the two leaders presided over the exchange of the MoUs. Modi is also set to meet Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam later in the day, along with Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. Lee will host a luncheon in Modi's honor. Additionally, Modi will engage with Singaporean business leaders and key figures in the semiconductor sector. Together, Modi and Wong will visit a semiconductor manufacturing facility.

This visit follows Modi's landmark trip to Brunei, which was the first-ever bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister to the nation.Upon his arrival in Singapore, he was warmly welcomed by members of the Indian community.
