Addressing concerns over derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Zameer assured that the Maldivian government was taking measures to prevent their recurrence.
Zameer defended Muizzu's decision to prioritize visits to Turkey and China after his election victory, citing logistical convenience for both nations. While acknowledging previous discussions with India regarding a visit, he emphasized the need for mutual convenience in scheduling.
During talks with Jaishankar, Zameer highlighted the agenda of organizing Muizzu's visit to Delhi and reiterated the absence of a military pact with China. He clarified, "The President of Maldives has clearly said that we are not bringing in any foreign militaries into the Maldives."
Debt relief measures for Maldives were also discussed, underscoring the significance of economic cooperation with India in the Maldivian economy.
Zameer unequivocally distanced his government from the derogatory remarks against PM Modi, emphasizing that such sentiments did not align with the stance of the Muizzu government. He assured that appropriate actions were being taken to prevent their recurrence.
