Hostage-Release Plan: Israel Proposes Ceasefire in Gaza

The ongoing war between Israel and Hamas seems likely to be paused for a few days now. Israel has sent a proposal to Hamas. As war entered 109th day, Israel wants 2 months fighting pause in Gaza for release of all hostages. Meanwhile, Israel forces killed around 60 Palestinian fighters in the Gaza strip in operations over the previous 24 hours.

The proposal by the Israel Benjamin Netanyahu was sent through the Qatar-Egypt, which are playing the role of a mediator in the conflict. The proposal comes merely a day after Netanyahu rejected a deal by Hamas fighters to end the war on Gaza, which has killed over 25000 Palestinians till now. Now, Israel proposed a deal that the agreement included the release of all Gaza hostages. This information was given by two officials associated with the Israeli Defense Ministry. However, it remains to be seen whether Hamas is ready for this.

The families of dozens of Israelis held captive by Hamas in Gaza are putting a lot of pressure on the government. The men entered the Israeli parliament during a meeting of the finance committee. The relatives of the hostages have intensified their protests in the last few days. They are calling on the Israeli government to do more to free them.

Israel has carried out a massive bombardment of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. At least 60 Palestinians were killed in the attack. The Red Crescent Society in Palestine told the media that it had received several reports of deaths and serious injuries among the displaced due to the bombing of the shelter centers.
