A sniper with a scoped AK-47 rifle came within a few hundred yards of him while he was golfing at his club in West Palm Beach. The Federal Bureao of Investigation (FBI) is investigation what it said is an apparent assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that Secret Service agents shot at a man who was pointing an AK-style rifle with a scope while Trump was golfing. The shooter, located approximately 400 to 500 yards distant and concealed in bushes, escaped in a SUV but was caught in a nearby county. At the scene, he was also in possession of two backpacks and a GoPro camera.

This is the second try on Trump's life in this year. At an election rally in Pennsylvania two months ago, he was slightly hit by a bullet.

In a message to his followers, Trump reassured them of his security, stating, "Gunshots were heard near me, but before speculations spread, I wanted you to know first: I AM UNHARMED AND IN GOOD SHAPE!" He also stated, "Nothing will impede my progress. I will not give up, ever!”

The golf course was partially shut down by the Secret Service, with agents positioned in front of Trump who noticed the gunman. Regularly, they patrol the surrounding area while Trump golfs, frequently accompanying him with an armoured vehicle for possible threats.
