The minority Hindu population in Bangladesh experiences great fear during the Durga Puja celebrations this time. There have been a number of unfortunate instances recorded nationwide during puja. For their alleged involvement in the violence, more than 12 cases have been recorded, and more than 17 people have been placed; under arrest.Social media posts claim that on Friday, miscreants threw a fuel bomb at a Durga Puja Pandal in Dhaka. The incident happened in Dhaka's Tati Bazaar neighborhood. A video of the incident was published on X by a man belonging to the minority community.

In the meantime, it is also reported that Islamic songs were played on the stage of the Durga Puja pandal held at Chattogram's Jatra Moban Sen Hall, a few hundred kilometers away from Dhaka. Those in attendance were incensed by the incident.

A gold crown belonging to the Goddess Kali Temple of Jeroreswari temple in Satkhila district's Shyamnagar was previously stolen. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, gifted this crown to the temple.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohnmod Moinuddin Islam was quoted in a Bangladeshi publication as saying that since October 1, there have been 35 incidences involving Durga Puja rituals nationwide, and 11 cases have been filed in this connection. There are now seventeen persons under arrest. He claims that around 32,000 pandals all over the nation host pujas.

In the meantime, India has requested an investigation into the Prime Minister Modi-gifted crown theft.  The Indian High Commission in Dhaka made this request. According to reports, the foreign ministry responded strongly to the attack on Bangladeshi Hindus and Durga Puja pandals. Such incidents were described as abhorrent in a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
