Four films are being produced for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections to be held in April or May 2024. In this, sensational Director Ramgopal Varma's “Vyooham”, and “Sapatham” are creating buzz well before the general elections. Also “Yatra 2” movies coming under the direction of MahiV Raghav are going to become propaganda materials for the ruling YSRCP. Meanwhile, the movie “Prathinidhi 2” in favor of TDP is also being released soon.
‘Yatra 2’ is one of the most anticipated movies that will shed light on the life of present Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, following the success of its prequel, ‘Yatra,’ which focused on former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. The film is currently in its final stages of shooting, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.
As per Film Nagar talk - the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on February 8, the same date as the release of the first part. ‘Yatra 2’ is expected to provide a comprehensive view of the events spanning from 2009 to2019 in the life of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Meanwhile, an interesting update regarding the film’s casting is going viral on social media. “Yatra 2” will have the role of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister & Telugu Desam Party Chief Chandrababu Naidu. Bollywood actor and well-known villain of Tollywood Mahesh Manjrekar will portray this important role in the movie.
Mahesh Manjrekar has previously appeared in Telugu films such as ‘Adhurs,’ ‘Saaho,’ and ‘Guntur Talkies.’ The direction team has reportedly been closely involved in training Mahesh Manjrekar, ensuring that he captures the essence of Chandrababu Naidu’s character. They are focusing more on expressions, modulation, and dialogue delivery.
The movie Directed by the Mahi V Raghav, which casts Mammotty, Jiiva in the main lead roles. The music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan while the cinematography was done by Selva Kumar SK and it is edited by Kiran Ganti. The film is produced by Shiva Meka under V-celluloid Official, Three Autumn Leaves banners.
