Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk have left the internet in splits with their latest promotional effort for their upcoming movie Bad Newz. The trio recreated the infamous “Rider Provider'' TikTok video, turning cringe content into comedy gold. Shared on Instagram with the caption “Multiverse of Kalesh,” the video has fans in stitches and has sparked a wave of hilarious reactions. Ayushmann Khurrana humorously dubbed it "Greater Kalesh Colony."
In the video, Vicky gives Triptii a chocolate bar and receives a water bottle in return. After taking a sip, Vicky collapses, revealing a flashback where Triptii adds poison to the bottle. This parody playfully mirrors the original viral video, where a girl plots to poison her boyfriend, only for a twist to lead to her own demise.
The internet erupted with laughter, with fans nostalgic for the pre-pandemic era of awkward TikTok content. Comments ranged from “Cringe, but nostalgic” to “Ridiculous, but it brought a smile to my face.” One user praised the video as a clever promotional tactic, while others likened it to Bollywood-style Reels.
The trio, known as Team Bad Newz, has been on a promotional spree, dancing in malls, riding the Delhi Metro, and sampling local delicacies. Directed by Anand Tiwari, Bad Newz is set to hit theaters on July 19, 2024. The film is a comedy-drama and a spiritual sequel to Good Newwz, revolving around a medical case of heteropaternal superfecundation, with Triptii’s character finding herself pregnant with twins fathered by both Vicky and Ammy.
With advance bookings already underway, Bad Newz promises a chaotic and hilarious ride, capturing the audience’s hearts even before its release.
