It has been 25 years since the release of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Karan Johar's first feature film, which starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji. The movie is being rereleased in Indian theaters as a way to commemorate the momentous anniversary. The worldwide hit, which continues to be a classic movie today, captivated the public's and critics' attention.

The movie ended up being a '90s trendsetter. The movie established numerous new trends, like the custom of giving friendship bands on Friendship Day, Shah Rukh Khan's "cool" pendant, and Anjali's bob haircut.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which debuted on October 16, 1998, will now mark its 25th anniversary the following  Monday. On Sunday, October 15, at PVR ICON in Mumbai, Dharma Productions, along with PVR and INOX theatres, are hosting a special screening for the fans.

On Wednesday, October 11, the production company run by Karan Johar announced the news on social media, writing, "Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai aur #KuchKuchHotaHai special screening ka mauka bhi ek hi baar milta hai! At PVR INOX (Mumbai) on 15th October - time to relive the magic!".

Many non-Mumbai admirers responded to the post by requesting performances in their cities.

"Need more shows, not fair it's already full," someone else remarked, "Why not re-release it in all of India??" . A fan from Kerala who is a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Unfair Karan....Re-release it in all of India, especially Kerala."

Salman Khan made a brief cameo appearance in the movie, which also starred Johnny Lever, Archana Puran Singh, Anupam Kher, Sana Saeed, Farida Jalal, Reema Lagoo, and Anupam Kher in pivotal parts.
