Mom-to-be Deepika Padukone radiated elegance as she attended the grand pre-release event of "Kalki 2898 AD" in Mumbai. The Nag Ashwin directorial, set for a June 27 release, features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani.

Deepika, who has recently embraced the role of motherhood in her films, humorously addressed her real-life pregnancy at the event. Rana Daggubati, a fellow actor, playfully remarked on her baby bump, to which Deepika responded with a smile, “Yeah, I worked on it for three years so I thought "why not keep the baby bump for a few more months?"

Deepika's portrayal of mothers has been a recurring theme, seen previously in "Brahmastra Part One: Shiva." In this film, she played a pivotal role as Ranbir Kapoor’s mother, contributing to the movie’s rich narrative that blends mythology with modernity. "Kalki 2898 AD" promises a similar depth, exploring themes from the Mahabharata to a futuristic setting in 2898 AD.

The film’s storyline is ambitious, envisioning the next incarnation of Krishna, Kalki, in the Kali Yuga. Director Nag Ashwin explained, “This is like a conclusion of all the Puranas we have read. The character of Kalki exists in every age.”

The star-studded event saw Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone making stylish appearances. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, "Kalki 2898 AD" is poised to captivate audiences with its impressive teasers and posters. Despite its nearly four-hour runtime, the filmmakers are confident in its ability to engage viewers fully.

As the release date approaches, anticipation is building for what promises to be a landmark film, blending legendary tales with a futuristic vision.
