To honor Kareena Kapoor Khan’s 25-year legacy in Bollywood, PVR Cinemas has announced a special film festival dedicated to the celebrated actor. Kareena, who has carved an indelible mark on Indian cinema with her versatile performances, will be the focus of a multi-city festival that revisits some of her most iconic roles. This event will give fans the opportunity to enjoy her acclaimed films on the big screen once again.
The festival’s trailer, which was released recently, highlights Kareena’s most beloved characters, including Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Geet from Jab We Met, and Chameli from Chameli. The festival will showcase these roles and many more from her impressive filmography, spanning over 50 films. Kareena’s notable works include Omkara, 3 Idiots, Heroine, Udta Punjab, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Laal Singh Chaddha. This retrospective will celebrate her unique ability to balance mainstream success with critically acclaimed performances, solidifying her place as one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.
Kareena took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the tribute, writing, “The blood in my veins, the magic on screen… my job I love… the fire within… here’s to the next 25. Thank you to @pvrcinemas_official & @inoxmovies for curating this beautiful festival… so humbled.”
The event is also significant as Kareena Kapoor becomes the first female actor in India to have a film festival dedicated solely to her career. Previously, this honor was only reserved for iconic male actors like Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. The festival is expected to be a nostalgic journey for audiences, reliving Kareena’s evolution from her debut in Refugee (2000) to her most recent release, The Buckingham Murders.
Fans can look forward to more details about the festival and screenings, as well as Kareena’s upcoming appearance in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, co-starring Ajay Devgn.
