
Actor Allu Arjun has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a trial court. He has moved the Telangana High Court, challenging his arrest and the FIR. The case is being heard. The actor was produced in court. A crowd gathered outside the courtroom to see him. He was arrested on Friday in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede at the premiere of 'Pushpa 2' in Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun was arrested in Hyderabad on Friday. The South superstar was taken to the Chikkadpally police station. It was at this police station that a complaint was lodged against him. Allu Arjun underwent a medical check-up at Osmania Hospital before being taken to the police station. From there, the hearing started in the Nampally court. Allu Arjun has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
Pushpa 2 was screened on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. Allu Arjun was present there with the film's music director. There is an excessive crowd in the hall to see a glimpse of the favourite actor. The woman died in the stampede.
Later, the actor offered his condolences to the fan's family and announced a donation of Rs 25 lakh.
On Wednesday, Allu had moved the high court seeking quashing of the case. But before 24 hours had passed, he was arrested on Friday morning.
The Sandhya Theatre authorities filed a complaint against Allu Arjun and his security team. The Hyderabad Police registered a case under sections 105 and 118 (1) of the Indian Penal Code. The case was registered at Chikkadpally police station on the basis of a complaint filed by the woman's family. Allu was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Friday in connection with the case. After a medical examination, Allu was produced before the Nampally court, which sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.
Allu said the police entered his "bedroom." I didn't even have time to change clothes! I couldn't finish breakfast. Allu appealed to the court to postpone the arrest. He has also sought quashing of the FIR against him. The actor has challenged his arrest in the high court. His plea is being heard on an urgent basis in the Telangana High Court.
