The decision to make Naveen Jindal as the President was made by the apex committee, which is the governing body of the ISA. Jindal's appointment comes after Dilip Oommen, the CEO of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, stepped down from the position.

He highlighted the challenge of decarbonization, stating that it is crucial for environmental sustainability and aligns with India's commitments to global climate goals.

Jindal further mentioned that the steel industry is taking proactive steps to reduce its carbon footprint and embrace sustainable practices, aligning with the government's objectives and international agreements.

Born on March 9, 1970, Naveen Jindal is not only a successful industrialist but also a philanthropist and a former Member of Parliament. He has represented Kurukshetra, Haryana, in the Lok Sabha during the 14th and 15th terms. Currently serving as the Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Jindal also holds the position of Chancellor at O. P. Jindal Global University.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Jindal is actively involved in various social causes, including population stabilization, women's empowerment, environmental conservation, and education.
