Modi Govt Launched Bharat Rice: Big Relief to Consumers

The central government has taken special steps to reduce the price of rice. Bharat Rice is made available in the market. The Narendra Modi government is providing subsidized food grains at the cheapest rates. As part of the Bharat Rice scheme, good quality rice is being sold at Rs 29 per kg. It was inaugurated by Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Kartavyapath, New Delhi.

Subsidy Rice at Rs 29 per KG:

For various reasons, the prices of rice and other commodities increased in the country. To help poor and middle-class families, the central government is selling rice under the brand name Bharat Rice. Stocks will be made available throughout the country. Around 5 lakh tonnes of rice procured from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) will be available in all big chain retail outlets including NAFED, NCCF and Kendriya Bhandar sales points. The rice is available in 5 kg and 10 kg bags.

Compared to last year, retail prices of rice have increased by 13.8 per cent and wholesale prices by 15.7 per cent. The Centre is trying to control the prices of essential commodities and inflation in the food economy. In this way, rice is available at affordable prices.

Measures to control inflation:

In measures to control the rising inflation in the country, the Central agencies distribute wheat flour, pulses, onions and tomatoes at a lower price with the same brand. The Centre launched the Bharat Wheat Flour on November 6 last year. Bharat Wheat Flour is available at Rs 27.50 per Kg and Bharat Dal (Chena dal) is at Rs. 60 per Kg. The agriculture cooperative federation (Nafed) is receiving good responses from the customers in the context of the selling of Bharat Atta and Dal.

No Lifting of Ban on Rice Exports:

Various products under Bharat brand can be purchased through mobile vans. Also, it can be purchased directly by going through the three central cooperative agencies. It will soon be available in other retail chains, including e-commerce platforms. As part of official steps to control rice prices in the country, the Centre has asked traders, wholesalers, retailers, big chain retailers, processors and millers to disclose daily stock details.

On the other hand, Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, dismissed reports that the ban on rice exports would be lifted. He clarifies that the ban will continue till the prices come down.

Officials said that there is a good response to the sale of Indian brands on e-commerce platforms. Narendra Modi's government hope that Bharat Rice will get the same level of popularity... the the common man will benefit from the scheme.
