The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is set to launch the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR) under the Startup India initiative, aiming to strengthen India’s start-up ecosystem. The platform will centralise and streamline collaboration among key stakeholders, including start-ups, investors, mentors, service providers, and government bodies.
BHASKAR aims to become the world’s largest digital registry for the start-up ecosystem. Key features include networking, centralised access to resources, personalised identification, and enhanced discoverability, supporting India’s global brand in the entrepreneurial space.
With over 1,46,000 DPIIT-recognised start-ups in India, BHASKAR is designed to address challenges faced by both entrepreneurs and investors by providing a comprehensive, one-stop digital platform. The initiative seeks to unlock the full potential of the country’s burgeoning start-up scene by fostering a more connected and collaborative environment.
The platform will assign personalised BHASKAR IDs to each stakeholder, simplifying interactions, improving searchability, and enabling efficient discovery of opportunities and partnerships. According to the commerce ministry, BHASKAR is poised to redefine India’s start-up landscape, promoting innovation and growth within the entrepreneurial sector.
