The world celebrates International Women’s Day every year on March 8. This day is to celebrate the powerful, bold yet delicate women who are always at the forefront for contributing to the society. This year, the theme of Women’s Day is #InspireInclusion that underlines the inclusion of every inspiring woman fostering a sense of truly empowering every woman out there.

On the eve of International Women’s Day, let’s look at some of the ever-inspiring Indian women entrepreneurs who have become global icons and continue to put India on the world map.

Falguni Nayar – The CEO of famous beauty company that has completely owned the virtual world, Nykaa. Nayar was born in Mumbai in 1963 and did her Bcom     from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics. Falguni founded the billon-dollar company Nykaa in 2012. Her company also went public in 2021.

Indra Nooyi – Indra Nooyi was born in Madras in 1955 and completed her schooling in Chennai. The former CEO of PepsiCo, Indra did a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry and mathematics from the Madras Christian College and a PG from IIM, Calcutta. She has been a part of organisations like Motorola, Boston Consulting Group before joining PepsiCo in 1994. She became the CEO of PepsiCo back in 2006.

Vineeta Singh – The Shark Tank fame and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics, Vineeta Singh was born in 1983 in Anand, Gujarat. Vineeta completed her schooling from the popular Delhi school – DPS, RK Puram. She then went on to pursue electrical engineering from IIT, Madras. Vineeta further obtained a MBA degree from IIM, Ahmedabad.
