WhatsApp's new feature, 'Voice to Text'

In addition to texting, voice notes can be sent on WhatsApp for chatting. Meta is going to give additional benefits to this voice note. Users can now translate voice notes into text.

It is expected to be quite useful for those who prefer to read text rather than voice notes. A voice transcription facility is being added to this platform. As a result, voice notes can be translated into five languages. The voice note sent by another user will be translated into one's own native language, and the note can be read as text.

The facility will be available in five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi.

This feature is currently rolled out in the WhatsApp beta version. It can be accessed by going to the beta version of the Google Play Store. However, not everyone can take advantage of the feature at the moment. This voice transcription feature has not yet been fully rolled out.

The convenience of translating voice notes can be useful to many. By clicking on the chat, the voice note sent by the user will be translated into their own language. Meta is expected to add Hindi as well as other regional languages in the coming days.

In addition to this feature, Meta is coming up with another one. The company has decided to add screen-sharing features to improve group calls and video calls. This decision is for users to make more group calls and video chats. In addition to the screen-sharing feature, Meta is bringing up the number of members in group calls and the speaker spotlight feature.

Once this feature comes to the platform, WhatsApp will try to surpass apps like Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Meet. The company introduced the screen-sharing feature in August of last year. In addition to screen-sharing, the instant messaging app has decided to increase the number of members in group video calls.
