PM to Visit Chennai on June 20

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chennai on June 20th to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train service from Egmore railway station to Nagercoil. This visit marks his first to Tamil Nadu since assuming office for the third time. The highly anticipated event will see PM Modi launch several railway projects and Central Government initiatives at the Chennai-Egmore railway station.

The introduction of the Vande Bharat train service between Chennai and Nagercoil is a significant enhancement to Tamil Nadu’s railway network. Presently, Vande Bharat Express trains operate on six routes in the state, including Chennai-Coimbatore, Chennai-Tirunelveli, Chennai-Mysuru, Coimbatore-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Vijayawada.

 The new daily service between Egmore and Nagercoil addresses the long-standing demand from passengers for increased frequency on this route. Following recommendations from the Southern Railway Administration, the Railway Board approved the daily operation.

Extensive security measures have been initiated by the Greater Chennai Police in preparation for PM Modi’s visit. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is also expected to attend the inauguration, highlighting the importance of the event for the state.

The Tamil Nadu BJP has planned a special welcome for Prime Minister Modi, marking his first visit to the region after his latest electoral victory. This visit underscores the ongoing development efforts in Tamil Nadu’s railway infrastructure and is a notable moment in the state’s political landscape.
