NCP to Replace Saseendran with Thomas in Kerala Cabinet

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Kerala is preparing to replace its minister in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) cabinet, as per a decision approved by the party’s national leadership. NCP state president P C Chacko confirmed that Sharad Pawar, the party’s national president, has sanctioned the move to replace A K Saseendran with Kuttanad MLA Thomas K Thomas.

Despite the directive, Saseendran is reluctant to step down and remains hopeful that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will intervene on his behalf. Saseendran, a key figure in the NCP, is reportedly banking on the CM’s support to retain his position in the cabinet.

Chacko stated that he, along with both Saseendran and Thomas, will soon meet with Vijayan to formally communicate the party's decision. The leadership change is expected to realign the NCP’s political strategy within the LDF coalition, but it remains unclear how the CM will respond to the request.

Saseendran has been serving as a minister in the LDF government and his replacement could signal a shift in the NCP's political priorities in Kerala. The meeting with the CM is anticipated to determine the final outcome of the leadership transition.
