MUDA Chief Resigns Amid Probe Targeting CM Siddaramaiah

Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairperson K Marigowda has stepped down from his position, citing health issues, as the investigation into the MUDA site allotment case intensifies. Marigowda, a close ally of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, submitted his resignation to Urban Development Department Secretary Deepa Cholan, following the Chief Minister’s directive.

The resignation comes at a critical moment for the Karnataka government, already under pressure from opposition parties, particularly the BJP, which has ramped up calls for Siddaramaiah's resignation. The probe into alleged irregularities in site allotments by MUDA has brought fresh scrutiny on the Chief Minister, with the opposition seizing the opportunity to demand accountability.

Marigowda, who had been facing health challenges, was hospitalized last month after experiencing discomfort during a trip to Bengaluru. While his resignation is officially attributed to these health concerns, the timing raises questions amid the escalating political fallout.

The MUDA case has also caused friction within the ruling party, with Marigowda reportedly facing criticism from Siddaramaiah's supporters. His resignation adds to the complications facing the government as the probe continues to gather momentum.
