The BJP has launched an early campaign strategy in Kerala for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, setting an ambitious target of adding 30 lakh votes and winning multiple parliamentary seats. Building on its improved performance in the recent Assembly election, the party is now focusing on strengthening its organisational network and expanding its voter base across the state.
As part of the initiative, the BJP has introduced a structured leadership development programme through the Saral mobile application, a 72-page training manual and compulsory 24-hour residential camps for office-bearers from the area general secretary level upwards. The programme is designed to identify and train leaders with organisational and electoral capabilities.
An internal party roadmap calls for at least one political programme every month at the booth, constituency and district levels in the run-up to the 2029 general election. The party is also working to broaden its support base by reaching out to sections that traditionally backed the CPM, with a long-term goal of strengthening its presence even in Left strongholds.
The BJP also plans to continue highlighting the Congress-Muslim League-Jamaat-e-Islami political alignment, a campaign theme it relied on during the Assembly election, as part of its broader political outreach.
Leadership training camps are being organised for panchayat and area presidents, committee members, morcha office-bearers, district and state council members, along with selected influential individuals from each constituency. The statewide programme will continue until July 20.
Senior leaders, including K. Soman, Kummanam Rajasekharan and Yuvaraj Gokul, are expected to lead several of the training sessions. The camps will also include online assessments through the Saral app, discussions on voter expansion strategies, the party's organisational growth, and presentations highlighting the Union government's achievements over the past 12 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The NDA leadership in Kerala has also begun coordinating preparations for the 2029 elections, with alliance-level discussions underway and constituency-level activities expected to gather momentum in the coming months.
