Amid the NEET controversy, the Uttar Pradesh government is going to introduce a strict law to prevent question leaks. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a cabinet meeting on the issue on Tuesday. It was decided that a new law would be passed in the Assembly to prevent question leaks. If anyone is found guilty of such an offense, he will be sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 1 crore. The new law will be tabled in the Assembly soon.

After a meeting on Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved a new law to prevent question leaks. According to the bill, the punishment for any competitive examination, promotion test, degree diploma, leakage of question papers for any entrance examination, or cheating on any certificate will be from two years to life. Offenders will also be fined up to Rs 1 crore.

The same punishment has been proposed for not only question leaks but also for spreading fake question papers or running fake service websites. In addition, if any examination is affected in any way, the entire cost of the examination will be recovered from the organization or person involved in the incident. In this case, the ordinance has also been directed to seize the property. Strict measures have also been provided to prevent bail in such cases.

According to the Uttar Pradesh government, the new ordinance will be introduced in the upcoming assembly session. After passing the law in the Assembly, the ordinance will become law only after the governor gives his assent. Earlier this year, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission's RO-RO exam was leaked. As a result, the test had to be canceled. Six people have been arrested in this connection. Apart from this, there was also an incident of a question leak in the police recruitment examination in Uttar Pradesh. In the midst of such a situation, the Yogi government is walking on the path of strict law on question leaks.
