Was Anti-CAA protest in Assam a product of falsehoods?

In a speech in Dibrugarh ,Assam CM  Himanta Biswa Sarma stepped up his attack on Assam Jatiya Parishad president Lurinjyoti Gogoi and the opposition over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Sarma slammed people who allegedly circulated falsehoods about the CAA, claiming that accountability would be imposed for their views. Not only Sarma, also Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, criticized Gogoi, stating, "Those who are introducing themselves as leaders of Assamese nationalism are backed by Congress, which is shameful."

“In the name of CAA people were misguided by few leaders, their only interest was to become MP or MLA; using public sentiment for destruction of the state”, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, AYUSH added.

It is to be noted that Sonowal was the CM of Assam when massive anti-CAA protest was there in the state. Sonowal delivered scathing remarks against the opposition tethered to the Congress, for hobnobbing with the interest of the people of Assam, when the Congress were responsible for most of the problems that people of Assam are facing today.
