Rainfall Alert: IMD Predicts Monsoon Patterns Across India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive rainfall alert for various regions across the country. As monsoon showers continue to grace the subcontinent, here’s a breakdown of the forecasted weather patterns:

  1. North and Central India:

    • Moderate Rainfall: North and central India are expected to witness moderate rainfall activity accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning until July 8.

    • Isolated Heavy Rainfall: During the first half of the week, isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated in several states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

    • Severe Conditions: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya may experience isolated extremely heavy rainfall today.

  2. Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh:

    • These states are likely to encounter isolated heavy rainfall in the upcoming week.

  3. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim:

    • Heavy rainfall is expected from July 6 onward.

  4. Other Regions:

    • Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, and Goa: These areas are predicted to receive widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

    • Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, and Interior Karnataka: Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is likely.

    • Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Telangana: These regions should expect isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall during this period.

  5. Delhi and Surrounding Areas:

    • On July 4, several parts of Delhi experienced light to moderate rainfall, providing relief from sweltering humidity.

    • The national capital is expected to see light to moderate intermittent rainfall, according to the forecast.
