The 2025 Maha Kumbh is aiming for multiple world records. This year's Maha Kumbh is witnessing a record number of devotees and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's patronage of the largest eye treatment camp at the Mahakumbh. For the first time in history, a target has been set to distribute 3 lakh spectacles along with free eye check-ups to 5 lakh people. This program has been named Netra Kumbh.
The Netra Kumbh will be held on January 5 at the Nagkumbh area in Sector 5 of Mahakumbh. The camp will run on about 10 acres of land. In addition to distributing free eye check-ups and spectacles, surgery will also be done in the nearest hospital. Netra Kumbh committee member Dr. Ranjan Bajpai said the Netra Kumbh will be inaugurated by Juna Akhara Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Awadheshanand Maharaj and Maharaj Gauranga Prabhuji. Dr. Krishna Gopalji and Saha Sarkariava of the Sangh will be present as special guests. The camp has set a target of 10,000 eye check-ups per day from January 5. Last year, Mahakumbh made it to the Limca Book of World Records. This time it is expected to get a place in the Guinness World Record.
According to the committee, 240 big hospitals have been brought under one umbrella for this Netra Kumbh. Special arrangements have been made so that doctors do not face any inconvenience. Doctors will stay here during the camp. Those who want to donate eyes after death can also donate eyes here. Last year, 11,000 people had donated their eyes at the Nethra Kumbh. That number is expected to increase this time.
Apart from this, there is no shortage of entertainment in Mahakumbh Mahayagya this time. A huge drone show is being organised on the occasion of this event. About 2000 drones will be seen in the sky of Mahakumbh. It is known that through this drone show, the greatness of Prayagraj will be highlighted in the sky. The Mahakumbh will be held from January 13 to February 26.
