BJP Launches 100-Day Countdown for Kerala LSG Polls

The BJP in Kerala has kicked off its preparations for the upcoming local self-government (LSG) elections scheduled for the end of this year, along with the 2026 Assembly polls.

The BJP in Kerala has kicked off its preparations for the upcoming local self-government (LSG) elections scheduled for the end of this year, along with the 2026 Assembly polls. As part of the build-up, BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar unveiled a ‘Mission 2025 Countdown’ clock at the party’s Kottayam West district office on Wednesday, marking a 100-day campaign to energize party workers ahead of the elections. Similar countdown timers will be set up at all BJP district offices across the state.

The initiative was launched during a state-level leadership workshop held in Kottayam, attended by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, state general secretaries, zonal leaders, prabharis, and office-bearers from organisational districts. The discussions focused on election strategies aligned with the ‘Vikasita Keralam’ vision, inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat 2027’ mission.

District leaders were directed to begin grassroots-level preparations, including boosting voter registrations, addressing local issues like drinking water shortages, and proposing developmental plans for their areas.

To further strengthen its presence, the BJP plans to launch an extensive membership drive aiming to enrol 100 to 200 new members in every ward across Kerala. The party expects to add at least 15 lakh new members through this campaign, which it hopes will significantly boost its vote share in the LSG elections.
